Box Score

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior forward Samantha Abravanel (Islip, N.Y./Islip) set a new program record for single-season assists in the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team's (11-4-1, 4-3-1 SUNYAC) 2-1 loss at Buffalo State (5-6-5, 3-1-4 SUNYAC) in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup on Friday.

Abravanel picked up the assist by delivering a cross to sophomore forward Sarah Painter (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point), who fired it home to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute. It was Abravanel's seventh assist of the season, surpassing the previous record of six held by senior forward Shelby Kondelka (Bloomingburg, N.Y./Pine Bush) and Matty Schwartz. She is also tied with Kerri Kelty for the career assist record of 13.

In the 35th minute, Buffalo State's Kristin Seiferth delivered a corner kick that set up Shannon Yokopovich for a goal to tie the game at one.
