Box Score POTSDAM, N.Y. – Despite ample scoring opportunities from both the State University of New York at New Paltz and SUNY Potsdam women's soccer teams, the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest ended in a 0-0 draw after two halves of regulation and two overtime periods.
The Hawks (2-10-2, 1-3-2 SUNYAC) return home on Saturday, Oct. 17 to host SUNY Oneonta at 1 p.m. Potsdam (8-4-1, 1-3-1) will head out on the road to play Buffalo State on Friday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m.
Within minutes of the start of the game, freshman midfielder Rylie Murray tried to open scoring for Potsdam but found her shot saved by junior goalkeeper

Danielle Grossi (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) followed up two minutes later to get the Hawks on the board but couldn't get it past the Potsdam goalkeeper.
The stalemate remained throughout the rest of regulation. The Bears fired off three consecutive shots in the final minutes of the second half in an attempt to secure the win but were unable to keep the game from heading into overtime.
Despite hard offensive efforts in both overtime periods, neither team could find the back of the net, resulting in the 0-0 tie.
Potsdam edged the Hawks in shots, 15-14, and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks. Senior midfielder Jess Sterns led Potsdam's offense with three shots.
Grossi led the offense for New Paltz with four shots on the day. Junior defender

Chelsea Weir (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip), and sophomore defender
Monica Rouse (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam) recorded two shots apiece to add to New Paltz's efforts.
Stiklickas made four stops in goal, playing the entire 110 minutes. Potsdam sophomore goalkeeper Bri Thibeau registered five saves for the Bears.
