NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The No. 3 State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team is set to host United Volleyball Conference (UVC) crossover action on Sunday, March 29 with matches against No. 11 Elmira and Bard at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Hawk Center.
RECORDS: New Paltz is 19-3, 5-1 UVC…. Elmira is 17-10, 3-3 UVC… Bard is 8-16, 0-5 UVC.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (19-3, 5-1 UVC): The No. 3 New Paltz men's volleyball team defeated Hunter College in three sets (25-16, 25-17, 25-16) on Thursday evening in the Hawk Center…. Every active player on the team was able to see time on the court… Junior setter
Christian Smith finished the night with six kills, nine assists, four digs, and four blocks… Smith hit .667 (6-0-9) for the night… Junior outside hitter
Andy Fishman tallied six kills and a match-high four service aces… Sophomore middle blocker
Steven Woessner had five kills and three aces… Senior setter
John Lutjen also notched five kills and added a team-high 13 assists… Junior middle blocker
Christopher Husmann, currently the leader in NCAA Division III hitting percentage, enjoyed four kills on four swings.

SCOUTING THE SOARING EAGLES (17-10, 3-3 UVC): The No. 11 Soaring Eagles currently sit in fifth place in the UVC with a record of 3-3 after falling to Nazareth College, 3-1, last week on Saturday, March 21… Erik Griffin led Elmira with 24 kills and added one service ace, two assists, five digs, one solo block, and one block assist… Mike Ellison posted 16 kills and Dylan Kuhn earned 11 kills respectively… Carlos Faccio recorded his seventh 50-plus assist match of the season and added three aces… Rob Shade led the team defensively with 15 digs.

SCOUTING THE RAPTORS (8-16, 0-5 UVC): The Raptors fell 3-1 to Sage on Wednesday evening… Bard currently occupies last place in the UVC… Junior Jesse Small was named UVC Player of the Week for the period of Feb.23 and became the second player in Bard College
history to achieve this award… Small hit .355, averaged 3.28 kills per set, added four aces and 13 digs during this stretch… Small had a career-high 18 kills in a win over Yeshiva and was named to the Bard Raptors 2015 All-Tournament team over the February 20-21 weekend.
