NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The No. 3 State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team will look to continue its winning streak this weekend in the Springfield College Tournament from April 3-4, facing Southern Vermont, Ramapo and host No. 6 Springfield.

RECORDS: New Paltz has a 22-3 overall record and 10-2 away record… The Pride is currently 18-6 overall, 11-2 at home, and ranked sixth in Division III…The Mountaineers have a 15-6 overall record and 7-3 away record…The Roadrunners are 17-13 overall with a 4-6 away record.

21137SCOUTING THE HAWKS (22-3): The Hawks took down No. 10 Baruch in a Wednesday night match, 3-0… Junior outside hitter Andy Fishman led the Hawks with a match-high 15 kills and hit .379… Both junior middle blocker Christopher Husmann and senior setter John Lutjen claimed nine kills on the night… Lutjen also notched a .467 hitting percentage, 18 assists, and five digs… Husmann, who leads all of Division III in hitting percentage, recorded a .692 mark in the match… Sophomore middle blocker Steven Woessner registered five kills and two blocks while junior setter Christian Smith claimed seven kills and 18 assists… On the defensive end, the Hawks were led by junior libero Kevin Nardone with a match-high 14 digs…New Paltz had a total of 47 kills and four service aces in the victory… Husmann still leads the conference and all Division III in hitting percentage (.522).

TEAM STATISTICS: New Paltz is ranked first in the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) for hitting percentage (.336), assists (12.54 per set), and kills (13.45 per set)… The Hawks are also second in the conference for service aces (1.98 per set).

10389SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (15-6): Southern Vermont College swept Elms College 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22) on the road April 1 in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match…The Mountaineers only had seven team attack errors in the match…Freshman outside hitter Stewart Ramirez tied his season-high with 14 kills, while only making one attack error on 19 attempts for a .684 hitting percentage… Senior outside hitter Joey Dighton tallied 12 kills on 16 swings for a .688 percentage and only one hitting error as well… Senior outside hitter Keven Walley recorded eight kills, eight digs, one solo block, and three service aces… Senior opposite Scott Fitzgerald added seven kills, six digs, and three service aces to the comfortable win… Senior libero Tino Escovedo led the team on defense with 10 digs, while senior setter Herson Canta fueled the offense by assisting on 41 of the 45 Mountaineer kills… Southern Vermont hit .437 and edged Elms in digs 33-32 and service aces 10-1.

TEAM STATISTICS:  Southern Vermont leads the NECC in kills per set (12.83), hitting percentage (.263), assists per set (11.83), points per set (15.7), and digs per set (11.03)…The Mountaineers are ranked second in service aces per set (2.11).

LAST MEETING: The Hawks defeated the Mountaineers 3-2 when these two teams last met on March 25, 2012.

7526SCOUTING THE PRIDE (18-6): In their most recent match, the Pride defeated Emmanuel (Mass) 3-0… Junior Greg Woods recorded 16 kills on the match and hit .542 on the evening… Freshman outside hitter Ricardo Padilla Ayala had a total of eight kills, five digs, a career-best four aces, and hit .500… Senior setter Keaton Pieper dished out 35 assists, while outside hitter Ryan Malone collected a team-best seven digs… As a team, the Pride hit .470, claimed four service aces, and recorded 39 total kills on the night.

Kills: Woods (3.44 per set), Perez (2.86 per set), Padilla (2.70 per set)
Hitting Percentage: Woods (.353), Padilla (.325), Perez (.291)

TEAM STATISTICS: Springfield is currently ranked third in Division III for assists per set (11.89) and second in the nation for hitting percentage (.324)… The Pride is also ranked sixth in Division III for kills per set (12.54).

LAST MEETING: The Hawks lost to the Pride 3-2 when these two teams met earlier this year on Feb. 25, 2015.

2933SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS (17-13): This past weekend, the Roadrunners defeated Sage College in a Skyline Conference match, 3-0… The Roadrunners were led by freshman outside hitter Justin Feigeles who recorded seven kills and a .600 hitting percentage… Senior defensive specialist Peter Desvousges added six kills on six attempts and seven digs in the match… Sophomore setter Alec Weissman dished out 19 assists while freshman opposite Garrett Fitzsimmons added 12 assists….The Roadrunners also defeated Yeshiva College in a Skyline match on Monday night, 3-0… Feigeles led the Roadrunners again with a .538 hitting percentage and nine kills… Weissman led the team in assists with 43 out of the 47 in total… The Roadrunners hit .506 in the conference match with 51 kills… Ramapo held Sage to a -.294 and Yeshiva to a .111 hitting percentage.

WHAT'S NEXT: The Hawks will host the Sage Colleges on Wednesday, April 8 at 7 p.m.…The Pride will travel to NYU on Thursday, April 9 at 6 p.m.… The Mountaineers will travel to Newbury on Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m.… The Roadrunners will host NYU on Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
