UTICA, N.Y. – The No. 4 State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 30-28) victory at SUNY Polytechnic on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
With the win, the Hawks improve to 15-3 overall and will next play on Thursday, Feb. 23 at No. 7 Kean at 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats fall to 7-9 overall.
Offensively, freshman outside hitter
Aaron Carrk (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) tallied a match-high 12 kills, hitting .588 on the day. Senior middle blocker
Jake Roessler (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) floored eight executions and enjoyed a .727 attack percentage.
Freshman setter
Matthew Grace (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) distributed 28 assists against the Wildcats and tallied team-highs in digs (4), total blocks (3) and aces (2). For the day, the Hawks hit .308.
SUNY Poly was led by Max Szuba who floored seven kills.
