New Paltz, NY – The SUNY New Paltz Cross Country program hosted their annual New Paltz Invitational. The women competed in a 5k at the Milton Dome, while the men ran an 6k race. Both the men's and women's teams finished first. The women placed first with 15 points, in-front of Bard who finished with 50. The Men's team beat out Bard with a similar score of 15-49.
Lillian Stephenson placed first with a time of 20:50.8 and a mile split of 6:42.6 minutes. Following Stephenson was six more Hawks
Orquidea Briceno snagged second place with a time of 21:26.2, while
Marcella Candlin and
Mackenzie Barcomb earned third and fourth. Canldin ran a 21:26.2, holding a pace of 6:53.2 minutes per mile, while Barcomb finished one second behind with a time of 21:27.4.
Jazmyne Daily-Simpson took fifth with a time of 21:33.3.
Crystal Rustami was seconds behind with a time of 21:43.4 with a mile pace just under 7 minutes.
Allison English rounded out the first group of Hawks to cross the finish line with a time of 22.27.7 and a mile pace of 7:13.7.
Mikayla Cecora and
Hunter Larson crossed the finish line together in 10th and 11th place with times of 23:02.2 and 23:03.6.
Another pair of Hawks crossed the line together in 13th and 14th place.
Keira Whitaker finished with a time of 23:26.7, holding a mile pace of 7:32.7 followed by
Alice Adamo. Adamo finished with a time of 24:12.6, with 7:47.5 minute mile pace.

Serafin Maier,
Ava Nargentino and
Sam Maendel finished together in 16th through 18th place. Maier finished with a time of 24:38.8, holding a 7:55.9 mile. Nargentino was next to cross the line holding a 7:57.7 mile pace and a 24:44.4 final time. Maendel finished in 24:59.5 sneaking into the under 25minutes with a mile time of 8:02.6.
Evan Miller crossed the line first for the men's team with a time of 21:50.1.
Oliver Melara-Perez followed closely finishing second with a time of 21:50.9.
Vincent Mandraccia and
Gavin Bowers crossed the line next for the Blue and Orange. Mandraccia came in third with a time of 22:12.2 followed by Bowers with a time of 22:48.4.
Brandon Gardner and
Aiden Hesseltine crossed the line together, finishing 6th and 7th. Gardner with a time of 23:18.6 and Hesseltine with a time of 23:31.1.
Joe Palazzolo finished in 11th place for the Hawks with a time of 25:06.4.
Anthony Willis finished with a time of 25:19.8 in 13th place.
The Hawks will return to the course next weekend with an 11a.m. start in Poughkeepsie New York at Vassar's Ron Stonitsch Invitational.
