Buffalo, NY – The SUNY New Paltz Swim program competed in day one of the SUNYAC Championship. The teams competed in the 3-meter diving event, the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay. The team will return for preliminaries, set to start at 10 a.m.
The women placed seventh in the 800-free relay. The team of
Sophia Bucci,
Chloe Jeffares,
Abigail Keiser and
Jayme Fink touched with a time of 8:37.23.
The men placed fifth in the 800 with a time of 7:10.49.
Alex Gorzula led off the relay, followed by
Antonio Vavalle,
Hayden Brock and
Jack Wirth. The Hawks B relay placed 15
th. The team of Oliver Trzcinski, Luke Carroll,
Samuel Debbie and
Diego Burgos touched with a time of 7:51.93.
The team of
Sage Vadney,
Brianna Law, Keiser and
Molly Snyder touched fifth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:54.86. The Hawks B relay placed 16
th with a time of 2:04.89. The team of
Kaylee Gallagher,
Erin Donovan, Jeffares and
Naomi Levey earned two points for the Hawks.
The men's 200-yard medley placed third. The team of Wirth, Gorzula,
Jack Samko and
Venn Engstrom touched with a 1:34.00. The team of
Paul Castner,
Xavier Calderon, Brock and Burgos finished in 15
th with a time of 1:39.45.
After day one of the competition the women are in sixth place with 54 points and the men are in fifth place with 68 points. Prelims start at 10 a.m. in the Burt Flickinger Center on the campus of Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY.
