Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference Athlete of the Week recipients with the Hawks sweeping both women's tennis singles and doubles awards.
Freshman
Patrycja Filonik earned her first SUNYAC Singles Athlete of the Week award after winning both of her matches this weekend without letting up a single point. Playing at fourth singles, she defeated both Cortland and Fredonia in two 6-0 sets.
Senior
Justine Stanejko and freshman Sam Otrander earned their first Doubles Team of the Week award, as they went 2-0 on the week playing at first doubles. The duo defeated the Red Dragons, 6-1 before sweeping the Blue Devils, 6-0.
With the honor, Stanejko collected her eighth career SUNYAC weekly accolade, five for Doubles Team of the Week to go along with three Singles Athlete of the Week nods.
