WATERFORD, CT- The State University of New York at New Paltz cross country team traveled over to New England for the Connecticut College Invitational. The women finished sixth out of fourteen teams. The men finished eleventh out of fifteen teams. The meet was held at Harkness Memorial State Park just south of Connecticut College's campus on the Long Island Sound.
Senior Kate Cochran led the women placing second overall with a time of 22:37.3 on the fast and wet 6K racecourse.
Lillian Stephenson was the next Hawk in forty-second with a time of 25:28.8. Marcella Candlin placed forty-fifth with a time of 25:34.7. Emily Gonzalez and Mikayla Cecora rounded out the scoring five in sixtieth and sixty-first place(s) respectively. Cecora ran a new personal best time of 26.38.8 in the 6k.
Hans Hilson-Schneider was the first Hawk on the men's side with a time of 27:44.8 for thirty-ninth overall in the 8K race. Evan LaBelle finished in forty-second in a new personal best time of 27:44.8. Gavin Bowers finished fifty-second with a new personal best time of 28:28.1. Brian Casey followed next in fifty-ninth with another new personal best time of 28:46.6. Vincent Mandraccia rounded out the scoring five in seventy-sixth.

The Hawks will be off next weekend and return to action on Saturday October 29 for the SUNYAC Championships hosted by SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY.
