Ewing Township, NJ – The State University of New York at New Paltz swim team competed in day two of their annual mid-season meet Saturday.
The women finished ninth in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Sage Vadney,
Brianna Law,
Candela Sandoval and
Molly Snyder touched with a time of 1:57.69. The men placed fourth. The team of
Jack Wirth,
Alex Gorzula,
Steven Macaluso and
Jack Samko touched with a time of 1:34.48.
Candela Sandoval finished in sixth for the women's 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:02.68. Vadney touched with a time of 5:19.44.
Jayme Fink touched in twelfth with a time of 5:16.09.
Erin Donovan touched fourteenth with a time of 5:29.66. Gorzula touched ninth for the men with a time of 4:14.26.
Abigail Keiser and
Chloe Jeffares touched fourteenth and fifteenth in the 100-yard butterfly. Keiser touched with a time of 1:04.71 followed by Jeffares with a time of 1:06.36. Samko and Macaluso touched thirteenth and fourteenth. Samko finished with a time of 52.97 followed by Macaluso with a time of 53.36.
Antonio Vavalle cracked top eight, touching eighth with a time of 1:49.08.
Law touched twelfth in the women's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.34.
Wirth placed tenth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.92.
The team of
Sophia Bucci,
Jayme Fink,
Abigail Keiser and
Abigail Dusseault touched eighth with a time of 8:43.65. The men finished in thirteenth. The team of
Paul Castner, Luke Carroll,
Diego Burgos and
Dylan Nuzzi touched with a time of 7:48.94.
The women's team in in fifth place with 210 points, trailing the United State Merchant Marines who have 234.5 points. The men are in fifth as well with 191 points, trailing Cortland with 322.5 points.
The Hawks will return to the pool tomorrow morning for prelims at 11:00 a.m., followed by finals at 6:00 p.m.
