Ewing Township, NJ – The State University of New York at New Paltz swimming program finished day three of The College of New Jersey Mid-Season Invitational Sunday. The women placed fifth out of seven teams, and the men placed fifth out of six teams.
Abigail Dusseault finished seventh in the women's 1650. Dusseault touched the pads with a time of 19:00.52.
Sarina Buono placed twelfth with a time of 19:37.85.
Jayme Fink (20:00.33),
Sophia Bucci (20:17.85) and
Kaylee Gallagher (21:17.52) placed sixteenth through eighteenth wrapping up the event for the Hawks.
Antonio Vavalle placed sixteenth in the men's 1650 with a time of 17:27.71. Luke Carroll (19:12.67),
Diego Burgos (19:18.65) and Oliver Trzcinski (20:36.72) wrapped up the 1650 for the men placing twenty eighth through thirtieth.
Sage Vadney made top eight in the women's 200-yard backstroke, placing eighth with a time of 2:15.61.
Jack Wirth placed thirteenth in the men's race with a time of 2:00.89.
Naomi Levey (58.04),
Brianna Law (58.62) and
Molly Snyder (59.43) placed fourteenth through sixteenth in the women's 100-yard freestyle.
Steven Macaluso made top eight with a time of 48.13, in the men's 100-yard freestyle.
Alex Gorzula finished sixth in the men's 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:09.70.
Candela Sandoval touched ninth in the women's 200-yard butterfly touching with a time of 2:20.97.
Jack Samko finished twelfth in the men's 200 fly with a time of 2:03.01.
Dylan Nuzzi finished fifteenth with a time of 2:05.54.
The team of Snyder, Law,
Abigail Keiser and Levey placed eleventh in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:55.56. Bucci, Dusseault, Vadney and
Erin Donovan placed fourteenth with a time of 4:00.22.
The men's team of Samko,
Venn Engstrom, Macaluso and Vavalle placed fifth with a time of 3:16.38. Wirth,
Paul Castner, Nuzzi and Gorzula placed tenth with a time of 3:20.16.
The women placed fifth with 290 points, trailing fourth place finisher United States Merchant Marine who finished the meet with 391.5 points. Stevens Institute of Technology won the women's meet with 1166 points.
The men also placed fifth, earning 273 points, finishing being SUNY Cortland who earned 459.5 points. The College of New Jersey won the men's meet with 1700 points.
The Hawks will return to the pool next year with a conference dual meet against Cortland State on Jan 11.
