Buffalo, NY – The SUNY New Paltz Swim program competed in day three of the SUNYAC Championship. The teams competed in the 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 1-meter diving event.
Alex Gorzula dropped .49 tenths of a second from a nine-year-old 100-yard breaststroke program record.
Sophia Bucci finished 15
th in the 200 free with a time of 2:06.03, scoring two points.
Antonio Vavalle touched fourth with a time of 1:45.11, earning 15 points for the Hawks.
Sage Vadney placed sixth in the 100 back with a time of 1:02.59, scoring 13 points for the Hawks.
Molly Snyder touched 14
th with a time of 1:06.56, scoring three points.
Jack Wirth earned bronze, touching third in the 100 back with a time of 51.22, adding 16 points to the Hawks overall score.
Paul Castner touched 12
th with a time of 56.00, earning five points.
Diego Burgos touched 16
thwith a time of 59.83.
Brianna Law touched ninth in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.93, dropping over two seconds from prelims, earning nine points.
Naomi Levey touched in 14
th with a time of 1:15.03 earning 3 points.
Alex Gorzula earned silver in the 100 breast with a time of 57.47. Gorzula broke Ryan Lindgren's 2016, 9-year-old program record, dropping .49 tenths of a second off the race.
Venn Engstrom touched fifth with a time of 58.55, scoring 14 points.
Abigail Keiser touched 13
th in the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.76, earning four points for the Blue and Orange.
Jack Samko earned silver in the 100 fly with a time of 50.69. Samko touched second, collecting 17 points.
Hayden Brock touched 13
th with a time of 54.17, scoring four points for the hawks.
Candela Sandoval touched 12
th in the 400 IM with a time of 5:10.96, dropping five seconds from prelims.
Erin Donovan touched 13
th with a time of 5:11.13, dropping seven seconds from prelims, earning four points.
Samuel Debbie touched 14
th with a time of 4:38.12 in the 400 IM, earning three points.
The women's A relay of Vadney, Law, Keiser and Snyder touched fifth with a time of 4:14.79, scoring 28 points. The B relay of

Erin Donovan,
Chloe Jeffares and Levey placed 15
th with a time of 4:36.07, scoring four points.
The men's A relay placed third. The team of Wirth, Gorzula, Samko an Vavalle touched the pads with a time of 3:27.75, earning 32 points for the men. Burgos, Engstrom,
Xavier Calderon and Debbie placed 15
th with a time of 3:44.89, earning the final 4 points of the session.
After day three of the competition the women are in seventh place with 164 points and the men are in fourth place with 289 points. Prelims start at 10 a.m. in the Burt Flickinger Center on the campus of Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY.
