Robbins, a native of North Caldwell, N.J., helped continue the success of the New Paltz men's swimming program during his four years on campus, and during his senior season in 1985-86, he was a key factor in the Hawks' first of two SUNYAC championships. Robbins earned three Honorable Mention All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Championships during his career, and he also won three SUNYAC titles during his senior year, all of which established conference records. In addition, he earned four Metropolitan Conference titles across his sophomore and junior seasons. Robbins swam the second leg of the Hawks' program-record-setting 400 freestyle relay (3:09.09) in 1984, a mark that stood for 33 years.
