MAHWAH, N.J. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team (2-1) had little trouble with Ramapo College (1-2) on Saturday afternoon, besting the host Roadrunners by a 149-95 final.

The Hawks had a number of individuals step up, as eight different swimmers touched first.

Other first-place New Paltz performances came from freshman Chelsea Allocco (Chatham, N.J.) in the 1000 freestyle (11:15.01), senior Jessica Lester (Long Beach, N.Y.) in the 200 freestyle (2:05.56), senior Becky Baker (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.70), junior Christine Rieth (Penfield, N.Y.) in the 50 freestyle (25.47), senior Allison Wells (Shelton, Conn.) in the 100 freestyle (57.41) and sophomore Yuka Suzuka (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) in the 200 backstroke (2:21.16).

The 400 medley relay contingent of Wells, Baker, Suzuka and Rieth kicked off the meet with a winning time of 4:18.37 in the event, which was more than seven seconds faster than the second-place relay. The Hawks went exhibition in the 400 freestyle relay, but the foursome of Wells, Morris, Lester and Rieth supplied the top standard in the race at 3:51.09. Ramapo's foursome of Lindsey Poandl, Jill Tracey, Breanna Salazar and Chelsea Cummings tallied first-place points with a time of 4:32.04.
