SUNY New Paltz Athletics

The Department of Athletics wishes to recognize and honor those individuals who have been associated with the University and the Department, and whose achievements both at SUNY New Paltz and in the ensuing years exemplify the ideals of success and good citizenship as characterized by the Department.

There will be no more than five inductees selected in any given year. If a candidate is nominated but not selected, their name will be carried for a five-year period.

A nominee shall have been: a full-time student at SUNY New Paltz for at least two years, been associated with at least one varsity sport for at least two years, not been associated with the University for a minimum of five years, shown athletic involvement (honors, awards, team contributions and/or leadership as evidenced by post-season honors, such as All-American, all-conference, all-state, individual championships and record setting performances. If a nominee is a former Hawks administrator, coach or trainer they must have: been an administrator, coach or trainer for at least five years, not been associated with the College through retirement or resignation for at least two years, demonstrated greater character, leadership and an unwavering commitment to the development of SUNY New Paltz student-athletes. If a nominee demonstrated meritorious service, they must have: had a unique identification with SUNY New Paltz Athletics through moral and/or financial support, exhibited a dedication and loyalty to Hawks Department of Athletics.

The selection committee shall nominate, select and set policy for the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Hall of Fame.

Nomination materials will be available online. Completed nomination forms are due by March 31, 2023. Induction will occur in October and continuing on an every other year basis. Plaques will be given to the inductees with a copy added to the Hall of Fame wall.
